How to refer a child

Safeguarding children and young people or keeping them safe is everybody’s responsibility.

If you think that a child might be the victim of abuse or neglect or they may be at risk of harm, you should always report your concerns.

In an emergency always dial 999

Definitions of Safeguarding

In March 2015 the Government updated its general leaflet for professionals about child protection What to do if you are worried a child is being abused. The leaflet will also be helpful to the members of the public who are worried about a child.
